Help for surgery

I am a member of the working poor that is in need of surgery to continue to work. My company provides health insurance and covers 80% of cost. Problem is I lack the 20% deductible to pay the surgeon. My spouse is 100% disabled and can only contribute very little. Any contributions that may help my family over the hump will be greatly appretiated. May God Bless You.

About Jirel

Any suggestions?  I've heard that churches help out but I don't know any or how to find them or what to ask them.  I tried the Angel Food Ministries food program for 3 months, it was great.  It also gave me a gallbladder attack - so much for that.

I have an income of $2400 a month from long term disability insurance, you would think that would be a pretty nice income.  I did myself.  I've had foggy brain problems ever since I left work a year ago to go on disability - and was 80% of the reason I left work.  I started "waking up" about 2 weeks ago and decided to figure out why I kept running out of money.  My perscription costs average $1350 a month.  My rent is $850 a month, I'm in a 2 year lease.  That leaves me $200 to pay electricity, car, buy food, etc.  I see two different doctors, each a minimum of 4 times a year, their visits run $65 a month.  I have no health insurance.  I have not been aproved for SSD yet (hearing sometime soon) and even if I were it would be over a year before I could get medicare which I don't think covers perscriptions.

I USUALLY get new perscription glasses every 12 - 16 months.  Even when I had insurance they cost around $300 because I'm legally blind when I don't wear my glasses.  Last time I got new glasses the examining eye doctor told me I've started getting cateracts, probably steroid induced (one of the 13 perscriptions I take) and would need surgery in the future.  Hopefully that will wait until I get Medicare.

I was in a townhouse when I left work.  I moved out in Aug because I knew I couldn't afford it, my homeowner's fee was $300 a month let alone the mtg payments. I also had credit card bills.  I tried to write to all of them to tell them what happened.  I'm pretty sure they've all had at least 2 letters in the last 12 months.  I no longer answer my cell phone, I have a (downloaded while still working) unique ring tone for friends.

I have Lupus, high blood pressure, diabetes, and arthritis. My most expensive perscription is the about $550 every 6 weeks CellCept.  Its what is keeping my Lupus under control and may be why I don't seem to have organ damage yet.  Cellcept has programs for people who have had organ transplants only as that is what it was developed for.  About 4 of my perscriptions are gotten at Sweet Bay for $4 - $20 each.  The rest don't qualify for that program.

I've applied for food stamps before and couldn't get them because I had a savings.  I think even my unreachable retirement counts against me.  I tried again online but they said it didn't look like I would qualify. I have over a thousand in the checking account right now because I get paid once a month on the 15th and about 300 in a savings.  I'm about to buy some Cellcept but I plan to only take half the pills this time.  I've cut down the amount I take and am doing the same on most my other meds to stretch them.  No I haven't told the doctor's yet.  I haven't cut down on my blood pressure med.
